Tip # 15: Don't Call Me A Dip
A rolling dip drain is an unintrusive method of getting water off of a trail. It is effective on trails with mild grades. Make them gentle, shallow, and wide (typically, at least 18”). They need to go across the whole width of the trail. A properly constructed rolling dip drain may stay open with no maintenance for several years.
