Tip # 13: Be An Artist

Use a light touch when installing a rolling dip drain or grooming a trail. Use your McLeod and Pulaski to sculpt and shave the soil, not to chop it. Digging and chopping can cause more damage than the problem you are trying to correct.

For a great series of documents about trail building and maintenance, check out the IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) site. www.imba.com/resources/trail_building/index.html
