Carrot Fest 2002
    June 08, 2002

The MBOSC and the SCCHA (Santa Cruz County Horsemen Association) are proud to announce the 3rd Annual Carrot Fest where horses and bikes learn to share the trails. It will be Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Wilder Ranch Equestrian Staging Area off Dimeo Lane and Highway 1. The SCCHA will provide carrot cake, carrots and horses and the MBOSC will provide coffee and mountain bikers.

This event is a great way for both trail user groups to become familiar with each other and to learn the proper etiquette for meeting on and sharing the trails. The mountain bikers will help desensitize the horses by riding around and feeding carrots to the four-legged critters. This event also shows the parks and our government officials that the cyclists and horsemen are working on making our shared-use trails safe, fun and workable! There will be a ride in Wilder Ranch after the clinic.

If you would like to be a part of this very cool and unique event, contact Trisha Reid of the SCCHA at 831-454-0229 or trishar@cruzio.com.
