April 22, 2007 For the third time weve run a contest encouraging out best folks to come out and volunteer a little more. For the third time theyve proven they have an unrelenting commitment to trailwork, and perhaps need to achieve better balance in their lives. :} Volunteer Fest III ran for the past six months and culminated on April 1. And the winners are: " 1st Place: Bertrand Teplitxky with 11 days. He averaged two work days per month, and worked in all parks AWESOME! Bertrand is the happy owner of a new Specialized FRS Comp, courtesy of our sponsors at Specialized. " 2nd Place: Christina Teplitxky. Yes, the husband and wife duo took both the top prizes. 21 workdays between them what performance from the First Couple of Trailwork! " 3rd Place: Tied for second, but the loser of a coin toss is Harvey Hartmann, who won a nice new 30G Video iPod which goes quite nicely on the trails with the Specialized bike he won last time! Harvey continues to be an amazing volunteer. " 4th, 5th, and 6th here agan we have a tie with Nick Thomas, John Bono, and Scott Robinson all in a dead heat with six days each. They are all going to be seen on the trails with an iPod Nano or iPod Shuffle. " 7th Tanya Larson and Patty Ciesla two very long term volunteers, will both end up with $75 in iTunes Gift Cards. A special thanks also goes out to Specialized Cycles sponsors of our grand prize for the second time, and to the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County also returning sponsors --- for funding all the other prizes. Great partners and phenomenal volunteers keep our trails well cared for in our precious parklands. We really DO make a difference! |
